Kate Jackson, Registered Migration Agent (MARN 1281909)
Kate Jackson is the Principal Registered Migration Agent, Director and Founder of Comnectica Migration.
Kate is registered with the Office of the Migration Agents Registration Authority (OMARA), the Australian Government body that regulates migration agents.
Kate is also a Member of the Migration Institute of Australia (MIA), the peak professional body for registered migration agents and immigration lawyers in Australia. She currently serves as Chair of the MIA’s Refugee and Humanitarian Visa Program Advisory Panel, providing expert advice on refugee and humanitarian visa policy and practice at a national level.
Kate began her migration practice in 2013 with a simple hope: to help people from refugee backgrounds in Australia be reunited with the people they love, and to help people affected by conflict, persecution and crisis find safety and a future. More than a decade on, that hope is still at the heart of everything Comnectica Migration does.
Kate specialises in refugee, humanitarian and protection visas, partner, child, orphan relative and other family visas, and Australian citizenship applications. She loves the challenge of complex cases. Kate has had the privilege of working with hundreds of families over the years, and considers it an honour to be trusted at some of the most challenging and important moments of people’s lives. She does not take that responsibility lightly.
Before founding Comnectica Migration, Kate spent more than 20 years working in human rights, social justice, and community and cultural development in Australia and internationally, including in South Sudan. Her work has included refugee resettlement, literacy and women’s empowerment programs, capacity building, and social enterprise development.
She is a qualified and experienced trainer and has taught at university. Kate is also completing postgraduate training in psychotherapy, and brings a trauma-sensitive approach to all her migration work.
Kate speaks advanced French, intermediate Italian and Hazaragi, and conversational Dinka and Sudanese Arabic. She works with a dedicated team, many of whom have been with Comnectica Migration for over 10 years, and together they offer support in English, Farsi/Dari, Hazaragi and Urdu.
Comnectica Migration works fully online, meeting with clients by video, phone and WhatsApp. This keeps the service flexible and accessible, and means Comnectica Migration can work with people wherever they are, across Australia and around the world.
